This game used Nolan Ryan jersey is dated back to the 1984-1988 era. It is a Goodman & Sons jersey, size 44, which MEARS has closely examined. "Starting in 1984, the Astros switched from Sand Knit supplier jerseys to Goodman & Sons. This shirt contains the 1971-84 version of the Goodman & Sons tagging. Ryan continued to wear Goodman & Sons shirts throughout his stay with the Astros." They add that they have eliminated 1986 as a possible year because the Astros wore a sleeve patch that year and this jersey does not have evidence of the patch. The jersey shows light to moderate game wear. There is evidence of a nameplate change when MEARS examined the jersey on a light table. They gave a final grade of A8 because of the nameplate change and the light wear. Includes LOA from MEARS as well as Grey Flannel.
