Original oil painting featured on the cover of the 1985 World Series Program!
Presented here is and original 20" x 30" painting of Reds legend Johnny Bench, accomplished on fine Belgian linen by renowned sports artist Walter Spitzmiller. While known best for his golf paintings, Spitzmiller quickly earned notariety in the baseball world when he accomplished this work, which went on to be the featured cover imagery for the 1985 World Series program. Upon concluding this detailed work, Sptizmiller added his signature to the painting along the lower right side, just below Bench's image, in a black artists' pen. The work is nicely matted and housed in an oak wood finish frame, measuring 30" x 40" overall. Accompanied by an original copy of the 1985 World Series program which prominently features the painting on the cover!
