This one-page letter, dated February 14, 1912 on official White House letterhead, is addressed to Colonel Austen Colgate. The letter reads, in full, "My dear Colonel Colgate: I am very deeply indebted to you for your contribution to the success and enjoyment of Tuesday in Newark and the Oranges. The reception at the Essex County Country Club was thoroughly delightful. It was a matter of regret that I could not have remained longer. I hope you will give me an opportunity to reciprocate your courteous attentions when you are in Washington." Taft goes onto hand sign the letter in black ink. Overall in fine condition, with a horizontal fold across the center. The autograph is in excellent condition. Accompanied by full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
