Offered here is a handwritten & signed April 1st, 1966 letter by Queen Elizabeth II to former tutor of the Queen, Montaudon Smith, regarding the birth of her recent child, Prince Edward (March 10th, 1966) and how his older brother Prince Andrew adores him. Letter reads in full: " April 1st 1964: Dear Monty, What a pleasure to hear from you again and I do thank you so much for your letter on the arrival of our son - it has taken me so long to reply, I'm afraid, but I did want you to know how much I appreciated it. The baby is flourishing and is a great joy to us - especially to Andrew who is sure he is his own property! I feel the older children may be somewhat annoyed by this but I hope the holidays which start tomorrow will not prove too complicated! I do hope we shall meet again before too long and I am glad to hear you are keeping well. Yours very sincerely, Elizabeth R." Overall in fine condition with minor handling wear.
