Official Babe Ruth baseball signed on the sweet spot in blue ink, " Rogers Hornsby, 1957." One of the greatest hitters in the history of baseball, Hornsby remains one of only four men ever to lead the League in every major offensive category at one time during his career: hits, doubles, triples, homers, average, runs and RBI. The others were Cobb, Gehrig and Medwick. Hornsby finished his career in 1962 as a coach for the fledgling New York Mets and died later that year.
