High Grade Signed Check Penned Just Month's Prior to Clemente's Tragic Passing
 
Choice signed bank check drawn from the baseball legend's personal account on May 10, 1972--a little less than 8 months prior to Clemente's tragic passing in a plane crash.
 
Penned entirely in Clemente's hand (aside from the obvious stamping of the payee's name), this check was drafted by Clemente during a Pirates road trip against the Atlanta Braves. In fact, the day this check was written Clemente had a noble 3-for-4 outing at the plate in an 8-4 loss to Atlanta.
 
The blue ballpoint pen scripting is strong and clean, with Clemente boldly penning his flamboyant signature on the payor's line. The signature is so prime that it has received a grade of MINT 9 from the experts at PSA/DNA. A clean, beautiful specimen.
