Offered here is a Spalding official National League (Giles) baseball which is attributed to being game used on June 30, 1968 in a game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies (Pittsburgh won 5-2). Highlighting the ball is a beautifully sweet spot autograph in red ink, “Best Wishes to Jack, from Roberto Clemente,” with the signature rating a strong “8-9” in overall strength and clarity. The side panel also features an autograph and inscription from Clemente teammate Bob Veale (who pitched all nine innings for the victory on that day!). The fan who acquired the baseball added the date and score of the game along another side panel. Ball features a good even coat of soiling consistent with game usage. Factory stampings are light but visible. A terrific game relic which displays well as a Clemente signed ball! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
