Here is a rare 8x10 glossy 1979 Arista Records promotional photograph of the Grateful Dead, signed in blue felt tip by Jerry Garcia, Bob Wier, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, and Brent Mydland. The image was captured in April 1979 by acclaimed rock photographer Herb Greene in San Francisco. The photo was used to introduce Brent Myland as the new keyboardist for The Grateful Dead. The addition of Mydland returned the band to a six-man lineup. He would go on to become the longest-running Grateful Dead keyboardist, and perhaps the most beloved. During this time, the Dead enjoyed the biggest commercial success of their career. Mydland tragically died in July of 1990 of a drug overdose. Sadly, Garcia himself would eventually pass in 1995 following a lengthy battle with diabetes and drug addiction. True vintage signed photos of the Grateful Dead are exceedingly scarce. This is an outstanding example, captured at the onset of their greatest commercial success. The photograph is in fine condition, with some expected aging. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from music autograph authority Roger Epperson/REAL Authentication.
