While Kenny Baker and Jack Purvis will forever be most recognized by their contributions to the Star Wars universe, the Star Wars saga was only a fraction of their work together. From the early 1960s until Purvis' passing in 1997, Baker and Purvis spent the better part of their career performing as a theater/club act known as The Mini-Tones. Playing off of their short stature, Baker and Purvis created a living out of the Mini-Tones. When Baker was originally approached to play the part of R2-D2 in "A New Hope", he insisted that Purvis also join the production since his time on set would be taking away from their work in the Mini-Tones. Purvis eventually signed on to join the film and would go on to be involved in all three films in the original trilogy.

A choice find for the collector who focuses on rarity, offered here is an original 1960s publicity photo for The Mini-Tones, signed and inscribed in black ink, "Best wishes, Ken +," and "Jackie". The photo measures 3.75" x 5.5" and is in overall very good condition with a couple minor surface impressions from handling. Given the relative obscurity of Baker and Purvis prior to the Star Wars films, vintage signed material of the Mini-Tones is virtually non-existant! Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.

The Mini-Tones: ULTRA RARE Vintage Kenny Baker (R2-D2) & Jack Purvis (Chief Jawa) Signed 3.75" x 5.5" Publicity Photo (PSA/DNA Encapsulated)
