A 1960s autograph book that contains a complete set of Rolling Stones autographs in black ballpoint pen on a 4.5” x 3.9” page. The autographs were obtained at Bridlington Spa, England on 2nd May 1964 by none other than Mick Ronson. They come with a letter from the previous owner that reads ‘In the early 1960s, and before the advent of the supermarket, the Co-op has travelling vans which went around estates selling groceries in Hull, where I grew up, and I presume other areas. Mick Ronson was the driver of the van which came to my neighbourhood. At that time he was the lead guitar in a local group called the Mariners. He told us one day that the Mariners were on the bill of a gig with several acts that was coming to Bridlington Spa and the Stones were top of the bill. He asked if myself and a neighbour would like him to try and get us the Stones autographs which I jumped at as I was only 14 at that time and too young to go. And on 2 May 1964 the gig took place and the following week he returned my autograph book with the Stones autographs. He also signed the book as Mick Ronson, as he was known in those days, he said he might be famous one day! He went on to play in several bands before eventually joining Bowie and the rest is history!’ A fascinating musical pairing and presenting a set of near mint Rolling Stones autographs. Accompanied by a Tracks COA.
