Incredible Thomas Edison Signed Document That Was Instrumental in The Creation of One of the Greatest Inventions in Modern History!

Imagine yourself as one of Thomas Alva Edison’s closest assistants. The world-renowned inventor beckons you, and a few of your colleagues, into his darkened laboratory. You crowd with anticipation around a wooden table. All eyes focus on a small glass globe. This is the moment of truth. The air is thick with anticipation and the constant hum of an electrical current. Edison blows out the gas lamps, turning the room to pitch black, and then whispers an inaudible prayer. Suddenly, the self-contained object begins to glow.  The faces that surround you are awash in a luminescence that is completely foreign to you.  Everyone stares at this mysteriously futuristic, slightly frightening little sunburst--it’s a coil on fire--its Electric Light!

Thomas Alva Edison has revolutionized the way people live.  His patented light bulb is undeniably the greatest single invention in modern history. Presented here is the actual Patent Application for improvements of the Electric Incandescent Lamp – Better know as the Light Bulb.

With Edison’s American Patent for the Light Bulb already submitted, the inventor set his sights on the world, so on November 22nd, 1881 Edison Signed and submitted this patent application to the Governor of India where it was granted and approved several months later on September 2nd, 1882.

This Extraordinary Document reads in part:
"I Thomas Alva Edison, of Menlo Park, in the state of New Jersey, United States of America, Electrician, do solemnly and sincerely declare, that I an in possession of an invention for improvements in Carbon Burners for Incandescent Conductors for Electric Lamps..."

Due to the complicated and time consuming regulations of the U.S. Patent process, Edison actually received approval for this foreign patent before his marquee invention was secured in the United States. For those of you hoping to see the American patent application show up on the auction block, it’s going to be a long wait. The American patent application rest institutionalized and will never be available for private acquisition.

This patent application was kept on file in the country of India during its 14-year enforcement where manufacturers of Edison's new Light Bulb invention were required to pay him and his laboratory residual fees. When the 14-year patent term expired, this document was no longer valid, and so returned to Edison's laboratory office in Menlo Park, New Jersey. Few who worked in the offices of Edison's laboratory realized the historic importance of his expired patents as the 19th century came to a close, and so most of the patent files were discarded, lost, or destroyed. Luckily, this most prized patent somehow survived, and after more than one hundred years of darkness, this Historic document was discovered.

This Document measures “8 x 11” and is encapsulated in a sealed PSA Holder. The piece is displayed in a custom archival frame measuring 24” x 24” overall, along with a photograph of Edison, a detailed plaque, a printed schematic diagram of his light bulb, and comes complete with a Letter of Authenticity from the #1 Third-Party Authenticator: PSA/DNA.

This Historical Gem would easily be the center piece of most museums including the Thomas Alva Edison Menlo Park Museum, or the Smithsonian Museum of American History, and there’s no doubting it will illuminate even the most elite Edison collection, leaving all competition in the dark.

This is the document that moved forward  Edison¹s most famous invention, - one that transformed the world into a much brighter place; The Electric Light Bulb!!
