Joe Namath is best remembered for his guaranteed win in Super Bowl III when his team was a near 20-point underdog against Johnny Unitas and the Baltimore Colts. Namath's New York Jets went onto defeat the Colts in one of the biggest upsets in the history of the sport, and the great quarterback was named MVP after passing for 209 yards.One year earlier, in 1967, Namath became the first quarterback to amass 4,000 passing yards in a season. Despite the remainder of his career being riddled with injuries, Namath finished with 27,663 passing yards and 173 touchdowns. Offered here is an incredible piece of history for the Jets fan, a Sand-Knit New York Jets uniform used by Broadway Joe during the 1975-76 season - his last with the Jets. Although due to the font style of the numbers on the jersey it is believed that this uniform was used for practice or pre-season wear, there is no doubt as to its use. The wear is consistent with other such exemplars from Namath and all appropriate tagging is present. Namath has even gone onto sign the reverse of the jersey in black felt tip marker. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from MEARS with the uniform grading an outstanding A-10!
