It was early November 1926 when Babe Ruth signed and inscribed this famous image photo "To My Friend Kay Hartel From Babe Ruth Nov. 4, 1926." The inscription and signature are bold, fountain pen beauties! It was only a month earlier that the Babe tried to steal second base in the 9th inning of Game 7 of the World Series, was thrown out and ended the series. If this image seems familiar, it's because it is. This image was used in the Sanella Margarine baseball set of 1933, issued in Germany. This particular photo is further enhanced by "The Christy Walsh Syndicate" stamp on the reverse. Christy Walsh was the first super-agent, representing both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig; and now we know how Ruth was branded overseas to European markets. The reverse also has the date "Sept. 30, 1927" in the upper right corner. This example measures 6" x 9", contains a few light wrinkles and is missing a small part of the upper right corner. However, the signature is strong and the image is extremely crisp and represents Ruth in the follow through of his powerful swing! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
