Offered here is an 8" x 10" black and white of the famous "V-J Day in Times Square" photograph taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt on August 14, 1945 (V-J Day or Victory over Japan Day). The photo has been signed and inscribed by the Navy sailor in the photo, George Mendonca: "Times Square V.J. Day 8/14/45 U.S.S. The Sullivans 1942-1946 George Mendonca QM 1/C" and is also signed by the nurse, Greta Friedman, who writes, "Times Square, V.J. Day, Best wishes, Greta." Dual signed photos from this iconic pair are SCARCE! Photo exhibits some surface impressions in the area of Friedman's autograph but is otherwise fine.
