Offered here is a fabulous 8" x 10" black and white photo capturing Rocky Marciano's September 23, 1952 knockout punch of Jersey Joe Walcott to take the World's Heavyweight Boxing Championship. The knock out, in the 13th round, saved Marciano from losing the fight by decision as he was trailing on all 3 scorers cards at the time. It stands as perhaps the most important fight of Marciano's career, and this particular image is one of the most famous moments in all of 20th Century sports.
Showcased on this photo is a solid blue ballpoint pen autograph penned by Marciano along Walcott's leg. It is also important to note that this photo is uninscribed--a rarity for Marciano, who insisted on personalizing virtually everything he signed.
Some light scattered surface impressions, otherwise this photo stands in fine condition. From the image to the signature quality, everything about this photo is great!
