The 1988 World Series is one that would go down in history, with the Oakland Athletics matched against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers ended up upsetting the heavily favored A's to win the Series in just five games. Perhaps the most notable moment in the series, and one of the most memorable moments in baseball history, was a pinch-hit walk-off home run hit by Dodgers MVP Kirk Gibson, who could barely walk at the time due to injuries. Offered here are two Official 1988 World Series baseballs - one signed by that invincible MVP, and the other signed by perhaps one of the most famous broadcasters of all time, calling games for the Dodgers for 67 years (including that fated World Series), Vin Scully. Vin's announcement of Gibson's home run can still be heard today: "High fly ball into right field, she i-i-i-i-i-is gone! In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened!" A fabulous set of baseballs to add to a collection, with both balls featuring bold signatures and still standing crisp and clean. Accompanied by COAs from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
