Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, serving from 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Offered here is a military commission dated for January 1865 & later signed on March 22nd, 1865 approximately 24 days prior to the Commander & Chiefs assassination by John Wilkes Booth. Possibly one of his last signed documents this 16" x 20" partially printed document appoints Adam King during the heat of the end of the Civil War. Signed at the conclusion with a bold full-name "Abraham Lincoln" autograph by the soon to be former President. Overall in fine condition with intersecting folds & a crisp blue deal. Authenticated by Beckett/BAS with a full letter of authenticity.
