‘During the school holidays in 1963 our mum took us to New Brighton on the Mersey Ferry we were upstairs sitting at the front of the boat and mum recognized that the Beatles were aboard and they were standing at the top of the stairway. Mum looked in her bag and all she could find was a piece of old envelope and she went over and asked for their autographs. They were very friendly and willing to sign. At the time George was downstairs so three autographs from John, Paul and Ringo which we have kept sitting in a drawer. We have a recollection of there being a bass drum on the deck with The Beatles logo across it’.
